​Sean Tyson is a seasoned basketball professional and educator with over 20 years of experience dedicated to the craft of player development and program innovation. As the Director of Basketball Operations for Greenwave United Basketball Club, Sean oversees the strategic vision and technical training standards of the organization, ensuring a high-performance environment for athletes at all levels.

​Professional Philosophy:

​Sean’s approach is rooted in the science of skill acquisition and long-term athletic development. Rather than focusing solely on short-term wins, his programs emphasize the fundamental mechanics and "basketball IQ" necessary for players to excel in modern, high-paced collegiate and professional systems. His curriculum is designed to bridge the gap between raw talent and elite execution.

​Decades of Experience: With over two decades in the industry, Sean has served as both a coach and a program architect, building basketball cultures that prioritize discipline and technical mastery.  

​Greenwave United: Under his leadership, Greenwave United has become a hub for skill acquisition, providing structured pathways for youth and elite prospects to refine their game.

​Academic Foundation: Sean holds a Bachelor of Science in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism from Clemson University, a background that informs his holistic approach to community sports management and program sustainability.

Ian Kadlec

Video Coordinator & Scouting Analyst

​Ian Kadlec is a cornerstone of the Greenwave United coaching staff, having been with the organization since its inception. As a veteran presence in the program, Ian has played an integral role in fostering a culture of excellence through his leadership in the film exchange and player development departments.  

Career Highlights & Milestones

​Greenwave United (Founding Member): Ian has been a foundational pillar of Greenwave United since day one. He is the primary architect of the high-energy Film Exchange Program, transforming the way coaches and players utilize visual data to improve on-court performance.

​Team Saskatchewan (U16): Ian began his coaching journey as the Video Coordinator for the Team Sask U16 squad. His technical insights were instrumental in the team's success at the 2015 Summer Games, where they secured a prestigious 3rd-place finish.

​Canada Basketball (National Internship): In the summer of 2020, Ian furthered his expertise through a highly competitive internship with Canada Basketball. This experience allowed him to refine his skills alongside some of the top analytical minds in the country.

​Winnipeg Sea Bears (CEBL): Moving into the professional ranks, Ian joined the Winnipeg Sea Bears of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). Working with the league champions, he provided vital video edits and scouting reports that helped drive the team’s tactical execution.

Technical Expertise

​Ian currently operates as a remote film specialist, shaping the digital strategy for Greenwave United. His ability to break down complex gameplay into actionable scouting edits has become a vital asset for player recruitment and game preparation. Whether at the provincial, national, or professional level, Ian brings a relentless energy and a sharp "basketball eye" to every project he touches.

Ian graduated from Olds College with a degree in agriculture. He was valedictorian of his class in Davidson high school and was MVP of his basketball team at Olds College.

Scott Hawley

Head of Coaching

​With over 20 years of experience on the sidelines, Scott Hawley serves as the Head of Coaching, bringing a wealth of expertise and a proven track record of elite-level success. A dedicated leader in the basketball community, Scott has maintained a remarkable winning percentage of over 85%, establishing himself as one of the most accomplished high school and club coaches in the region.

​During his nine-year tenure at Walter Murray Collegiate, Scott was instrumental in building one of the strongest and most consistent basketball programs in the province. His impact extends far beyond the scoreboard; he is deeply committed to the holistic growth of the sport, having spent the last decade developing a generation of high-performing players and mentoring emerging coaches.

​A proud graduate of the University of Saskatchewan, Scott’s coaching philosophy is rooted in discipline, tactical excellence, and leadership. Off the court, he is the proud father of three sons—Zach, Andrew, and Lucas—who continue to be his greatest motivation.
